Software leader works with Greenpop on local environmental campaign

KCS teams up with Greenpop to plant 33 trees in South Africa's Uilenkraal Valley, advancing the group’s environmental sustainability efforts.

Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS), the market-leading global supplier of ERP solutions for the distribution, automotive, and rental industries, is proud to announce its latest initiative to support environmental sustainability through an initiative with the Greenpop Foundation. In line with their pledge to reduce carbon emissions and safeguard the environment, KCS has joined forces with Greenpop to plant 33 trees in the Uilenkraal Valley Restoration Project on South Africa's Western Cape.

As a leading non-profit organisation, Greenpop plants trees and 'greens' communities. On a mission to empower ecological stewards across Sub-Saharan Africa since its inception in 2010, the group has planted nearly 180,000 trees and inspired over 132,000 active citizens in South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania.

Under the leadership of Giuseppe Martini, KCS Director for South Africa, the KCS team from our Stellenbosch office in South Africa took part in a tree-planting project with Greenpop in the Blomerus area of Uilenkraal Forest project in Overberg. 'This initiative is about planting trees to reduce the harmful carbon gases released into the atmosphere by commercial and industrial activity,' says Giuseppe, explaining the aims behind the project. 'We estimate each tree will absorb a tonne of carbon over their lifetimes, which helps offset the worst effects of man-made climate change.'

'As a company, we're thrilled to partner with Greenpop and contribute to their environmental restoration mission and community engagement,' Giuseppe continues. 'This initiative underscores our dedication at KCS to create a greener, more sustainable future in which we can all prosper.

The partnership with Greenpop and the Uilenkraal Valley Restoration Project is just one example of how KCS is taking proactive steps to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance the ecological health of our communities. The company are proud to support such a proactive cause and look forward to taking part in similar projects in South Africa and worldwide.
